Dr. Jesse Smith is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, and an adjunct faculty member at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA.

Having received a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and a PhD in Couple, Marriage, and Family therapy, Dr. Smith researches and treats addiction and recovery, anxiety, depression, trauma, existential and spiritual identity and development, LGBTQ+ communities, couples, and families.

As a person in long-term recovery, he is actively engaged in a 12-Step program and supports anyone who wants to pursue this path.  He also recognizes that there are other paths to a life free from addiction, and supports harm reduction as a proven, effective approach to helping people live better lives. Whatever form your route to recovery might take, Dr. Smith will help you get there.

Dr. Smith worked at Child Guidance Resource Centers from 2019 to 2022 as a family-based therapist in the Philadelphia community. Family-based therapy involves intensive home- and community-based family therapy for children and adolescents displaying social, emotional and behavioral disorders and for their families. Dr. Smith is deeply committed, personally and professionally, to delivering culturally competent treatment to underserved populations in the community.
