About Me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. I’ve worked in the field of addiction and mental health since 2011.
My experience has included a variety of settings: inpatient medically supervised detox, rehab level of care, partial hospitalization, private practice, and corporate.
I also developed the clinical content for a national addiction treatment system widely utilized for all levels of care. Additionally, I have trained therapists and other professionals on best treatment practices for working with those who suffer with addiction and maintaining recovery.
My Approach to Therapy
All of these experiences informed my understanding of the disease as well as what approaches are most effective. Addiction should be treated with compassion, empathy, without judgment, and delicately. Addiction does not occur in a vacuum as there are many contributing factors. Therapy can unearth those factors and propel you into lasting change and understanding.
One of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. I believe that there are no two people that have the same story, life, or circumstances. My sessions and treatment approaches are tailored to meet each person’s individual needs. Therapy is an opportunity to take a fresh look at the thoughts, emotions, and conflicts that are holding you back from your purpose.
My goal is to help you to recognize underlying problems and to fully realize your strengths. I have an eclectic and collaborative approach to therapy, drawing from a variety of both short-term and long-term treatment methods.
