Intervention Information and Resources
The resources below are excellent places where you can learn more about interventions. You can find details about how to prepare for and plan an intervention for a loved one or friend. As well as information about how an intervention can help.
Some of the resources listed are available in the Philadelphia, Montgomery County, and Main Line region. Others are from national organizations.
Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT)
CRAFT is an evidenced based and empirically-supported method that has been shown to be effective in steering loved ones towards treatment and recovery. The Treatment Research Institute in Philadelphia has been pioneering programs that are now being tested online which have compassionate and extremely promising techniques based on principles of psychological behavior therapy. We highly recommend the book Get Your Loved One Sober by Robert J. Meyers, Ph.D and Brenda L. Wolfe, Ph.D. which is based on CRAFT, a “proven prevention program.”
