In 2017, over 1,200 Philadelphians died from drug overdoses, up from 907 the previous year. Despite improvements to treatment access and efforts to restrict opioid prescribing, the opioid epidemic continues to rage on. The Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia (PCOP) is assembling a panel of experts on Saturday, February 8th for its event, “The Opioid Epidemic: Psychodynamic Perspectives and Interventions,” to help clinicians better understand the opioid epidemic and its impact. Jeremy Frank, PhD will be part of the three-person panel where they will describe their experience of the opioid epidemic, discuss psychodynamic theories of addiction and treatment options, and help clinicians refine their listening for themes of addiction in their patients or patients’ loved ones.

Register for the event online at www.philanalysis.org or contact PCOP for more information.
